Jawahar Knowledge Centre
To Help the Students of Government Degree Colleges of the State improve their employability skills and get a job by the time of leaving the college, the Government started JKC ( Jawahar Knoledge Centre) in the year 2013. Through this platform, the students, of final year in Particular, are trained in Communication Skills, Analytical Skills and Computer Skills. Each year, Thre Batches (I Batch : May - July; II Batch: August - November; Batch III: December - February:) of Students are enrolled into the programme. The JKC steering committtee is constituted with the Principal of the college as its Chairman, any regular faculty as the Coordinator and any three senior faculty people as the members. One FTM (Full - Time Mentor) Trains the students in Analytical and Computer Skills. GEM ( Guest English Mentor), The English faculty in the College, teaches communication skills to the Students. Every Year, Job drives are organized on Campus with a number of firms and companies offering various positions to the JKC trained students and the job seekers.
The ever increasing prominence of India on the global map has lead to a growing demand for hard working and talented students good with computer skills, communication skills and industry related skills. The doors of global job market are opened to students who can speak fluently, compute quickly, write legibly and analyze logically. The conventional curriculum offered through B.A., B.Com and B.Sc., courses does not impart requisite skills relevant for dynamic job market especially that of emerging industries like Software and BPO. The Department felt the need to offer training to bridge the skill deficit of students and to enable them seize employment opportunities in job market.
